Simultane tercüme genel olarak konuşan şahıs ile birlikte eş zamanlı olarak yapılan bir tercümedir. Bu tercüme çeşidi oluşan zaman kaybı da en aza indirilmiş olur. Ancak tercümanların hemen hemen en çok zorlandığı bir tercüme türü olmaktadır. Çünkü konuşmacı kişi genel olarak net bir şekilde dinleyerek çevirmesi için gerekli zaman çok kısa olmaktadır. Simultane tercüme, gerçekten işini en iyi yapabilen tercümanlar aracılığı ile yapılması gerekmektedir. Aksi taktirde ciddi anlam karışıkları da ortaya çıkabilmektedir. Genel olarak büyük çaplı olan organizasyonlarda ya da anlık şirket toplantılarında kullanılan yöntemdir. Eş zamanlı tercüme türünde genellikle 2 ya da 3 tercüman bulundurulması da daha verimli olur. 

Tercümanlık çok emek gerektiren ve çok zaman harcanması gerekli bir meslektir. Tercüme edilmesi gerekli belgenizin nerede kullanılacağına ve de hedef kitlesinin neresi olacağını iyi bilmek çok önemlidir. Her dilin hemen hemen kendi içinde belirli başlı üslup çeşitleri var olup çoğu tercümanın üslupları da birbirinden farklı olmaktadır. O yüzden hedef kitlenize genel olarak uygun olacak üsluba da sahip bir çeviri için tercüman bulmak belge için daha da iyi olacaktır. Çevirmek istediğiniz genelde belgenin çeşidi de başka önemli bir noktadır. Ardıl tercüme genel olarak resmi ortamlarda kullanılan ve de diyalog tercümesine göre daha uzun diyalogların da çevrilmesi ve ya tercüme edilmesidir. Ardıl tercüme türünde tercümanlar konuşmaları elinden geldiği kadar not almaya çalışırlar ve yaklaşık olarak 3 dakikalık konuşmanın sonunda kişiye çevirmenlik yaparlar. Genellikle bu ardıl tercüme konferans konuşmaları ve şirket toplantıları için kullanılmaktadır.
